Rated 5 out of 5 by ggobble534 from I Loved it! I don't write many of these often, but I wanted to offset the bad reviews. If you like girly games (I do) this one is great! The music and characters are adorable. They vary the games up a little and I am enjoying that. When I went to search for their other games, I wasn't surprised to see they also produced the "Awakening" series which I loved!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by MajesticSunset from Don't want to stop playing I'm almost finished. I have things in RL that needs to be done and I don't want to stop. The conversation was off putting at first but it wasn't as lengthy as time went on. Then I got caught up in the story and looked forward to finding out. I was surprised the first time I clicked on a question mark. It has fun facts and lots of points. You don't start with a glitter spot but find it. The dim and highlighted words help me know when I found everything in a sparkle spot. The sparkle stayed on once it's found. The story picks the scene your on so no repeat until it rotates there. I played all the little mini-games and was surprised I could complete them all and have fun doing it. I love it enough to purchase the CE.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Gamevirgin from Ok, this is so unique!!! I have only played 10 games so far on the demo and this game is incredible! I just had to pause and write this review. It has so many styles of HOG that I haven't seen in other games in the genre. This is worth a purchase! Might have to look at the CE to see if it has enough extra games to get that instead. Those who are not fans of HOG will love this too!

Rated 4 out of 5 by HeavenBound7729 from Another French Excursion BoomZap has put out some fine games. I own several which I enjoy to this day. They did pretty well with this new endeavor but I think their true talent lies within the HOPAs. I enjoyed the demo for First Time in Paris. Graphics and colors are great, no glitches, not a huge amount of dialogue, the story was okay but I usually don't pay much attention to HOG stories. The format pretty much follows the other HOGs we have of this type. There are multiple styles of HOs and a wee bit of interactivity which creates a Zoom Zone containing additional hidden objects. Easy, Medium and Hard Modes are available and I like switching about as I play to keep it interesting. The mini games are okay but a little too easy. I always love the "fun facts" in these hidden object games to other countries. Hopefully, the devs pay close attention to accuracy. I've come across boo-boos in the trivia in other games, which bugs me.I find the search more entertaining by playing each of the HO styles, it changes the challenge and keeps the boredom from creeping in. All the levels can be replayed if you care to improve your score and the items change each time you replay which prevents deja-vu, I appreciate that a lot.Though it is very similar to other HOGs at BFG, it never hurts to have a little stash on hand. I usually wait until a good sale comes along to pick up the CE for the extra locations to extend the fun.

Rated 4 out of 5 by kerith90angel from First Time in Paris SE (released here 4-8-22) Based on completed demo only (my rating 3.5*, so I gave 4*)This game is by Boomzap Entertainment, the same makers of the Faircroft’s Antiques series. I really wish this DEV would read the reviews to that series too because I think it would help this one get higher ratings. This game has the exact same problematic features as most reviewers didn't like in the FA series. I left a review under FA #3: The Heir of Glen Kinnoch CE and FA #1 Treasures of Treffenburg SE that totally fit this game too. I liked:~ The graphics are sharp and clear.~ The detailed HOP scenes were great and it felt like they were done with care.~ loved the 1920 x 1080 resolution in options (finally a DEV has this)~ A double R click will "zoom" the area you're searching~ There is an "ambient volume" slider in the menu ~ I loved the HOP where you had to find the smaller pictures within the scene that match.Didn't like:~ The same delivery of the story as Faircroft's Antiques. The other reviewers mentioned a problem with all the clicking through text in that series and it's why this one is getting low reviews too, imo.~ The rotating puzzles have no thought. If you rapidly click the picture squares they will *stop*... 1, 2, 3 clicks & the square sticks when they are in the correct position; which requires no thought.~ Same annoying pick-up sound *every* item you click (also the same sound in the mini-games.)~ The ambient sounds weren't always working. I really disliked the music so when you turned it off, you weren't always hearing background noises with the game effect sounds. I prefer ambient sounds like it’s done in the HOG My Beautiful Earth.~ Zoom zones still have sparkling stars even when there is no item in the ZZ. I prefer when the ZZ will open & close when items are currently in them.~ I absolutely hated the "Match Pairs HOP". In order to even find the first item (to match with) you have to click every item in the scene first.I'm so sorry I'm nitpicking this game but (after reading all the other reviews too), I believe it has the ability to be highly rated with a few small changes. This game has so many areas it does shine that it could be outstanding.

Rated 3 out of 5 by pennmom36 from A DECENT HOG WITH A NICE STORY I did enjoy this new HOG, some of the items were very challenging to spot, there is a nice variety of HO styles, and I was somewhat interested in the story about a blogger from Dayton, Ohio who has been asked to promote a failing Hotel business in Paris.I get it, everyone wishes BoomZap would go back to its roots and create the HOPA masterpieces we fell in love with, but the truth be told, they make a bigger profit on HOGs, not to mention the fact that they didn't have much of a choice in the matter (long story) First Time in Paris can be played in an Easy Mode (Hint recharges in 15 seconds-Super Hint recharges in 30 seconds) Medium Mode (Hint recharges in 30 seconds-Super Hint recharges in 45 seconds) or a Hard Mode (Hint recharges in 45 seconds-Super Hint recharges in 60 seconds)Each scene has ? (question marks) to find with an associated Fun Fact, and the levels can be replayed to earn a better score but the objects to find each time are different. Each scene usually has an interactive task (Drag item to the logical source) and once the interaction is complete, the object becomes a zoom zone with more Hidden Objects. The HO's vary with Listed Item Finds, Multiples of the Same Type, Scrambled Words, or Matching Pairs where you must find the object and the matches. After completing the HO scene, you will play a mini-game such as a Jigsaw, Matching Pairs, Cycle Through squares to find the correct picture, or Drag & Swap squares to complete an image. The mini-games can be skipped once the skip bar fills. The CE version has a Story Mode, Unlimited Mode (scenes unlock as you play them in Story Mode) 6 Bonus Chapters, 16 Achievements in the CE and 15 in the SE, 38 Photo Journal Pictures in the CE & 26 in the SE (unlocks as you play the mini-games) 13 Music Soundtracks, and 12 Wallpapers. There's always something interesting going on at my new forum! If you miss chatting with fellow fishies from the Big Fish Forum days then grab a thermos full of coffee, throw on your favorite jeans & t-shirt, and lace up your hiking boots...ah who are we kidding...just keep your comfy fuzzy slippers on, and come chillax with us by the fire at

Rated 2 out of 5 by cg47 from Enjoyed 2 levels, but 70% rest checked poor for me I really wanted to like this because I really liked 2 out of the 8 levels I tried. But, for me, the other 6 were terrible! I personally hate mixed up letters h/o, then the 'choose pairs' really poor, smell matches even with hints. A shame because if they had given me the option to change formats on some of the 6, I would have purchased it.
